Rebecca & Mary-Gail's 3-year old Well Check-Up + Happy Birthday party!

I took Rebecca & Mary-Gail to their 3-year old (what??) Well-Check on December 22nd, almost a month late. In my "earlier days" as a Mom, I would have cried and felt tremendous guilt for not having their well-check on or very, very, very close to their birthday, but not now. I guilt myself on many other things, and I've finally realized that seeing the doc "late" for a well-check isn't necessary.
Mary-Gail surprisingly managed to keep shoes & socks on during the drive to the doc's and while I checked us in. But upon signing my receipt for the office visit co-pay, Mary-Gail had stripped her feet bare, and was almost out of her top. That child! (Rebecca has resorted to addressing Mary-Gail as such too: "Child, what are you doing? Child put your sockies on!"). Well, at least Mary-Gail wore her Ariel pajama bottoms, so I knew she wouldn't be taking those off. (Mary-Gail decided sometime in late October that she was only going to wear pajamas - that child!) :O)
Our NP, Sue Ann, was amazed when she saw Rebecca & Mary-Gail. "Chatty little girls, aren't they?" she said. Yup, they sure are. Mary-Gail brought along my book club book, and was "reading" it. Sue Ann said something like, "What are you reading?" or "How's you're book?" and Mary-Gail responded matter-of-factly, "I'm reading it from the beginning," the same response she gives me when I ask her about her books.
Rebecca made sure that Sue Ann knew they're names. "I'm Becca. 'B' for Becca. That's Mary-Gail. I'm not getting a shot." And Mary-Gail, oblivious to the mention of the word "shot" said, "I'm Miguel. What's your name?"
Anyways, our check-up was standard, routine, fabulous. A far cry from our early days. We were current on immunizations, had our seasonal flu shot & our H1N1 + booster shots already, so we didn't get shots, and that made for a happy visit. Rebecca did 1/2 of the eye exam, but couldn't understand why the MA wanted her to cover one eye and then say the letters she saw. She couldn't see any letters, because her eye was closed! Sheesh! Mary-Gail wanted to play doctor and refused to be told what to do since she was the doctor and was in charge. That child! I hurried us out of the office and down the hall to see Grandma Pink & Doctor George, with promises of a "kiddie cone at the 'M' store" if Mary-Gail would keep her socks & shoes on.
I'm not a fan of "stats" but since we finally made it on the charts (woo-hoo!), I'll list them and their ridiculous percentiles.

A princess birthday cake, of course!
Look @ Rebecca's face - she loves to sing, and loves to be sung to!
This picture could not have captured the moment better - Rebecca is in heaven!
Rebecca & Mary-Gail are all smiles - it's their "Happy Birthday party!"
Oh yes, delicious cake & all-you-can-eat ice cream, Mary-Gail
And on to the presents
Aunt DarDar & Uncle Mark gave the girls dress-up's, complete with jewelry
(which is what Mary-Gail is eying through the box)

Tah - Dah!

Rebecca wasted no time in getting her princess gown on, and quickly had help getting her accessories on: earrings, ring, and purse

Both girls loved their clip-on earrings

Aunt Carol & Uncle Jack gave the girls "talking" books
Abbie colored them pictures of Cinderella and Prince Charming...
...which lead to Mary-Gail hurrying to get her "glass slippers on" so she could "dance with Eric, and Max, and Ariel at the Castle. And get married in the temple. And you can come too!"

Lovey picked up these bubble-blowing guns at WDW in September.
He was super excited to get them out from under our bed

All last summer we blew bubbles, and caught bubbles, and now Rebecca & Mary-Gail get to "shoot" bubbles with their bubble guns

Another gift from our trip to WDW back in September: a globe with a lighted spindle inside. Gives me a migraine...

Rebecca & Mary-Gail had a great birthday. They got books from Grandma Pink, V-Tech games from Grandma & Grandma Kemp, puzzles, and lots of attention. Thank you, everyone, for all your love, prayers, and support you've showered us with. We're happy, healthy, and we're 3! LOVES!
