While you sleep

My dearest girls...

While you sleep,

I pick up the toys from our adventures of the day

While you sleep,
I clean the tiled-counter tops from the food you laughingly smeared into the grout

While you sleep,
I scrape the food off the kitchen floor that you purposefully dropped

While you sleep,
I make dinner for your Daddy (who's still not home from work yet...)

While you sleep,
I sort laundry (not to be confused with actually 'doing' laundry)

While you sleep,
I catch up on e-mails and blogging

While you sleep,
I make a lofty list of things I want to accomplish tomorrow

While you sleep,
I hope that you'll forgive me for my faults and inadequacies of being a mom

While you sleep,
I tell myself that I did the best I could today and tomorrow will be better

While you sleep,
I hope that you will still love me when you're 8, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19,...

While you sleep,
I can't imagine what I did before you entered my life

While you sleep,
I think of the miracles you are...

Rebecca (candy cane); Mary-Gail (wedding ring) 5 days
And,
While you Sleep,
Tony and I hope to add a sister/brother to our family...
we start the In vitro-fertilization "process" in the fall.
The above picture were the fertilized eggs that became Rebecca & Mary-Gail

Ahh, it makes me tear up to think of you having another baby babe! What an exciting and challenging adventure for the fall. Thanks for sharing so much of your wonderful life with the world and for loving your babies so much.

Thank you for saying that. I feel as though I'm being selfish wanting another child, especially knowing what I and this baby will have to go through. Someone said that "some people just shouldn't get pregnant." I've thought about that a lot, and have concluded that the desire to be a mom and have babies is so strong; and this is my 'season' for children.

What a wonderful post! You are so good with words! I think that every mom and dad think of those things when their Children are sleeping. I am so excited for you and Tony. You will be blessed for the scarfice you make to bring sweet spirits into this world. You will always be in our prayers.

Amanda, considering how difficult pregnancy is for you, I think you are that much MORE brave and wonderful and obedient to do it again for the sake of another life. Just think about how much more you love Rebecca and Mary-Gail because of the true miracle that is their existence. Motherhood is clearly the best outlet for your energy and creativity. You have always been generous with your energy and motherhood is no exception.
