Florida: Disney's Animal Kingdom, Wed, Sept 16th

Wednesday we planned on visiting the Animal Kingdom. This park is so, so, so HUGE & spread-out; we quickly found out that no matter how well Jo & I planned our visit to this park, we were going to have to back-track & re-trace our steps to see everything we wanted to.

This day was a very hot day, and walking through a "rain forest" wasn't making our lives any easier. I'm so happy that our little ones did so well - they seemed to have better coping skills that I did this day!

Fun cut-outs - I'm a sucker for these

One of the "sights" that I wanted to see was DiVine. And we found her shortly after arriving. Isn't she lovely!!!

We took a quick break from the heat & rehydrated in the Rainforest Cafe. JoJo was excellent with all the littles and their need to see the fishes up close.

Back in the park we stood in line to see some characters, get their autographs, and take pictures with them:

Chip 'n' Dale

"Safari" Donald Duck
(Mary-Gail was so affectionate with all the characters -
we had to pull her away from them!)

Gorilla from Tarzan

Pluto & Goofy
The Cute Chrisman family

We saw the Festival of the Lion King, which was incredible. It was indoors (whew!) and lasted about 30-minutes. I was wrongly informed that this show had live animals, but Hakuna Matata - no worries, it was still fantastic. Next we entered the Maharaja Jungle Trek located in the "Asia" section of Disney Animal Kingdom, and toured the "jungle."

Komodo Dragon
Gage really wanted to see this giant lizard

All aboard!
