The Hoover Dam - Monday, 3/30

This is what Rebecca & Mary-Gail thought of the Hoover Dam:

Lovey & I took the girls to see the Hoover Dam on Monday. We decided against paying $50 pp for a tour of the Dam, and instead paid $11 pp for a tour of the power plant. There was a 10 minute video showing the history of the dam, and then we all ("we" meaning 50 people) crammed into an elevator to go 52-stories down..."into the belly of the earth..." to see the Power Plant.

I thought the people in our group were going to kill us. Rebecca & Mary-Gail were a little ornery after just having a quick cat-nap on the drive to the dam, they only wanted me, and they were not used to being crammed up next to so many people in such a tight spaces. But one couple was super nice and after talking with us for a while the man said, "They're they cutest 2-year old I've ever seen, and they're really good for being only 2. And everyone was 2 at some point in their life." To which I commented, "Yes, and yes. But people don't remember that they were 2." Seriously! I mean my 2-year olds behave better than most adults!

The Power Plant
Mary-Gail: "We're how many feet below the ground?"
Space to run free! Mary-Gail & Rebecca dancing on the American Indian art.
Lovey & I told the girls that we were the "caboose of the group."
We didn't know Lovey was going to take a picture of our cabooses though...

The HOOVER DAM
There is enough cement in this dam to circle the Earth's equator 3 TIMES!!!

They're building a bridge over the dam. Another engineering masterpiece.
There are people up there!

And after a long dam day (hehe) we need nourishment!
Nothing like sucking down sugar & caffeine to jumpstart your afternoon!
We're ready for another adventure!
